Like others have described, the assistant has become less and less functional over time. When I drive, I say "hey Google"and ask it a command. It pops up, listens, acknowledges my response, then does nothing. this happens in my car, on my phone, outside of driving. I have also experienced the "unlock device first" issue. Google used to have a great ecosystem and apps, but you can't live in a house where the manager comes in and keeps changing your furniture (and your locks).

Constantly misunderstands me so I have to repeat myself, and extremely frustrating that 3rd party list support has been dropped. I used this all the time while driving to add things to my todo list. Can't even change the voice assistant in android auto to an open one that does support them. I assume it's a way to get people using more google services and devices, but I won't be locked in, especially when it is so bad.

This is really a joke for 2025, so many bugs and problems with multiple languages in use. A simple thing ends up randomly in browser searches making it useless! It is safer and faster to do things manually. Even a simple question like: is it raining, or is there a chance of rain, or what is the temperature outside based on precise forecast location end up with opening pages. A joke and a shame, considering we are going in AI time! It opens screen I need close manually!!!
