I've been using Gaia GPS for a while now for road trips and hikes, and it's been a good experience so far. However, a few issues need to be addressed, the functionality is cumbersome to use. ie: You can't download a gpx file using the mobile app, and you can't delete tracks on the web interface. Also, being forced to pay for a very expensive premium subscription just to access basic offline maps is ridiculous. (Almost every other map app includes this free).

Generally does what I need to do and gives me access to thunderforest maps which are my preferred map though other software and maps are catching up. I had to come over when they acquired viewranger and Gaia didn't honour my lifetime access to OS maps . Only 2 stars because it is too expensive as there are some pretty good free alternatives out there now so at the higher price I think it won't be long before I move over.

The quality of this app declines with each new release. Was my favourite hiking app (still one of the best for topo mapping) but no longer imports standard gpx files generated by other apps, selecting saved tracks / routes is buggy & it doesn't save current state of visible / invisible trails so each time it opens it's back to square one. A pity, but may just have to give up on it.
