You are an astronaut awaking from cryonics not in the solar system, but... out there... in a far and unknown place of the galaxy. In Out There, you will have to survive, tinkering your ship with what you can gather drifting in the void, and spot garden planets to refill your oxygen supply.

Space is an hostile place ; dangerous and mysterious adventures will mark each step of your travel. You will not only meet intelligent species that won’t care about you, but also deal with ancient powers linked to your destiny and the fate of mankind itself.

Survival and understanding of what is really at stake in the galaxy is the core of what Out There has to offer.

Interesting premise, mostly well polished. Far too heavily luck based. With the amount of luck you have to be reliant on to play this, there needs to be some sort of mechanic to allow your experiences to mean something. Doesn't matter how much you learn about the game you can't escape RNGdestiny.

The phrase "more than meets the eye" could not fit this game more perfectly. On the surface, a simple, proceedurally generated space travel game, where you need to get from point A to point B managing items and resources as you go. But it's the encounters you have as you travel that really make it interesting, you can pick up bits of alien languages to help you deal with future encounters, abandond your ship for a better one, or collapse a star to destroy a solar system to name a few, great fun.

The game is 4 stars, support 1 star so I've split the difference and rounded up. As others have said it's a bit like FTL. Basically a old school type graphic adventure. Atmosphere is great but basically it's random how far you will get once you've worked out what you need to do. Has not been updated so achievements no longer work. Good when released but there are better games 'out there' now.
